N.J. lawmaker calls Trump “Daddy”

Dad’s home.
Congressman Jeff Van Drew referred to President-elect Donald Trump as “daddy” Thursday while talking about the world stage and how bad actors will get in line now that Trump will return to the White House.
“Countries indicating they’re going to be good boys and girls now, you know, just liken it to an old parable here, daddy’s home and things are going to change — and we’re going to go back to being a strong America,” Van Drew said on Newsmax.
Republican Van Drew won re-election last week in southern New Jersey’s 2nd District, which includes Atlantic City.
He first won election to the House in 2018 as a Democrat but left the party during Donald Trump’s first impeachment, saying he disagreed with the Democratic-led effort. Since then, Van Drew has been a vocal supporter of Trump.
